Welcome to Booterstown

The area of Booterstown is based in the Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown Constituency of Dublin, Ireland. It is about six miles from Dublin City Centre.
Booterstown was known as Baile Bothair, meaning Town of the Road
Today there are over 3,000 homes in the area and over a hundred businesses.
Booterstown is famed for its Bird Sanctuary which can be seen clearly from the Rock road and rail line that services Booterstown DART Station.

The heart of Booterstown is The Church of the Assumption.
The parish was constituted prior to 1616 and a tablet on the wall inside the church gives the names of all the parish priests from that date.
At one time, Booterstown Parish covered most of what is now South County Dublin.
The present church building was built in 1812.

This site will be updated with more information on Booterstown.
